Firstly I wanted somewhere I could log down my angling activities. More as a memory log for things such as what baits worked and what time of the year and so on. I’m also a designer and web programmer by trade so secondly took the chance to build something from scratch to showcase my professional skills. The initial site lasted a couple of years but as technology progressed and finding a new passion in photography I thought it was time for The Bite v2. The foundations stayed the same but the website moved to an open source platform – WordPress. I designed and built a theme to showcase my photography along-side my posts.
2015 has been a mad year for me, throwing in the birth of my first child, time on the bank has been scarce. Taking stock of things, this site took a serious back seat until the end of the summer. I made the decision to change my site completely. There are a lot more angling sites and blogs out there now and most write a lot better then I can and with this in mind my posting style is going to get shorter and to the point. Reading a few blogs I was worried that mine might be read in a similar self righteous way that the minority of the sites I stumbled over come across.
So as of 2016 and with me getting out more, the site will become active once again. I still have a number of reviews out-standing and a few new prospects to look forward too. Also, I’m going to look at getting involved in a few more matches and see where that goes. As far as my postings go, each post will consist of location, time of year, time of day, conditions, technique and result. The site will in turn go back to it’s initial use, store my data for down the line. This may mean more posts but a lot less gasbagging on and the review section of the site may become the more pushed aspect.More Coming Soon
